Born and raised in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Bao Anh, or Anh for short, grew up in a family where remnants of the Vietnam war were still largely present in her daily life. Despite the hardships, her parents had always managed to support her education to the fullest. From a young age, it was instilled in her that school was not even considered an option; it was a must. Many of those around her, including some of her cousins, however, were not as lucky. Now working as an actuary at the intersection of mathematics and business, she witnesses first-hand how the lack of access to quality education, particularly Math, really materializes in the disproportionate population of professionals in STEM fields. Through Fund for Dreams, she hopes to help alleviate some of the financial burdens faced by many children in the developing world so they can thrive and have a chance at a better life.
