About Us

Fund for Dreams is non-profit organization with the mission of helping impoverished children in developing countries realize their dreams through education, empowering them to reach their full potential and create lasting impacts on their communities.

Our Story

Fund for Dreams was started in 2017 by two young professional women, Nhat Nguyen and Shristi Ghimire. Nhat and Shristi met while studying Economics at Mount Holyoke College and soon found out that they had an immense amount in common including the core belief that every child had an equal right to education. Several years after graduated from college, they decided to make that common belief into action. Bao Anh Nguyen, who was eager to help drive this cause, soon joined them. This was the beginning of our philanthropic journey together.

Our Approach

For just $100 per student, Fund for Dreams provides funding that covers a year of school tuition, supplies, and a percent of health insurance costs for one child. Our approach is to not only collect donations; we create relationships between students and donors via video calls. In this manner, students have a chance to meet their donor, receive mentorship, and directly feel their love and kindness. Similarly, donors have a chance to connect with a student they sponsored directly and see first hand how their charitable donations impacted the recipients’ lives. Spreading love and kindness is a way to make the world a better place and each of us is capable of doing that.

Our partners

We are proud to work with our partner schools in Vietnam and Nepal. With their help, we successfully identify ideal candidates to receive scholarship funding. As we grow, we will continue to grow our partnerships, too. If you are interested in becoming a partner, please contact us.
